Forms of Water

Learning Objectives :
  1. Students will identify 3 forms of water.
  2. Students will cut and paste examples of the 3 water forms found in nature.
  3. Students will problem solve to quickly melt their ice cube bags.
  4. Students will know how water changes from one form to another, and that the amount of water stays the same.


Estimated Time Required :
2 class periods

Materials :
  1. Water worksheet
  2. Nature magazines
  3. Glue
  4. Scissors
  5. Sandwich bags with ice cubes
  6. Tea kettles
  7. Access to stove from science lab or school kitchen


Assessment :
  1. Give each student 3 pictures in solid, liquid and gas form.  Have them tell you which form each picture represents.
  2. Have students tell you how to change water into different forms
