Back to School: Back Outside

As we think about back to school preparation, it's also a good time to plan fall outdoor learning activities that children will enjoy. The National Wildlife Federation reports on findings related to the connection between academic performance and outdoor play time. It also talks about outdoor learning programs. The report describes two key benefits of getting kids outdoors. Outdoor education and play time helps students develop skills that will last a lifetime and they will do better on standardized tests.

The report entitled “How Outdoor Education and Outdoor School Time Create High Performance Students” was originally published in 2010 but the information is just as valid today.
